Changes of refractive status after pterygium surgery in a tertiary eye hospital in Bangladesh

Background: The aim of this study was to determine the amount refractive changes after pterygium surgery and compare relationship between amounts astigmatism with grade pterygium.Methods: A prospective, interventional, comparative conducted on one hundred eyes 100 patients primary attending outpatients department Ispahani Islamia eye hospital Institute, Dhaka from May, 2019 November, 2019. Pterygium graded according morphology extent corneal encroachment. Manifest refraction performed preoperatively at 1, 3 6 months postoperatively. All underwent stem cell conjunctival autograft by fibrin glue different surgeons.Results: decreased significantly following excision. mean pre-operative 1.69±1.13 D reduced post-operatively 0.23±0.27 (p value <0.001). VA 6/24 6/9.Conclusions:There statistically significant correlation induced present verifies that is directly proportional increase in size pterygium.
